K's "economics is for donkeys" could be a mistranslation. Perhaps he said that material pursuits are for donkeys whereas the followers of Allah should follow a spiritual path, and that Jews and Christians value money and their lives, while Muslims dedicate their lives to Allah.
In that case he should have loved economics, because he was an ass.
