My new 80,000 Hours podcast with Rob Wiblin just dropped. We start with a fun discussion of my latest book, Labor Econ Versus the World, then eventually get to the two topics that Rob most wanted to talk about: genetically-informed parenting and why Rob and I disagree about almost everything in metaphysics and ethics, starting with free will.
P.S. This was my second podcast with Rob. My first (on education) was four years ago, though it feels like it was only months ago.
This was a really good discussion. I liked when you talked about the deeper philosophical disagreements! I've found Huemer and you persuasive on these issues and different from what I normally hear (EA people), so it's interesting to see you discuss this stuff with them. I would like to hear your thoughts on Huemer's reincarnation argument!
Rob is clearly very intelligent and was asking good questions. This made for an excellent discussion.
