'Don't speak Ill of the dead' is a common aphorism today and has been common (or at least existed) for thousands of years.

I don't have much issue with it either way, but criticism of the living seems more pragmatic.

David Marwell’s recent book notes most of these supposed experiments were fabrications that arose decades after WW2. No, Mengele did not kill twins. He kept them for measuring limb growth in a standard anthropological study on heritability.
