I have soured on nonprofits. Many hospitals follow that model as do private universities. I have two problems with that. First if there were no profits the business would fail or at best not grow which is not sustainable in the long run. And second hospitals and universities tend to be elitist and predatory.
Envy and jealousy are the primary motives of those in the protected world(government, academia, and NGO's) compared to the profit world. They know their lifestyle and work ethic couldn't be supported in the private world of profit, regardless of its degree of competition.

They DON'T know they couldn't carry their weight in the private world, and they assiduously avoid finding out.
