Thanks to everyone who rocked the vote yesterday. The winners of the Alex Epstein audit election are #2 and #3:
“Epstein says that climate models are excessively pessimistic. These links argue that they have been accurate.” https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1029/2019GL085378
https://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2018/06/30-years-after-hansens-testimony/
“Epstein claims that switching to a pure wind/solar energy system would be prohibitively expensive. Essentially based on the fact that no such energy system currently exist. But there are plenty of people arguing that such a system is not only possible, but quite affordable. I would start with this review of 100% renewable energy systems.” https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9837910
Expect the results of my audit in 4-6 weeks.
Full election results:
Wind and solar are not stand alone systems and have an abysmal life-cycle return on energy. In a future "electrified" industrial environment self-replication is virtually impossible. Energy density is far more important than narrative reinforcement.
I’m sure I don’t need to tell you, but when analyzing climate model accuracy, the “walk forward” predictions are the most important. Example http://daviddfriedman.blogspot.com/2021/10/have-past-ipcc-temperature.html
