I read a study one time that showed that people who had suffered disproportionately from starvation from the British Blockade in WWI were significantly more likely to vote for Hitler. The experience likely increased their willingness to buy into his ideas.

The argument that voluntary birth control in one country alone wouldn’t work for reasons of international competition is surprisingly astute. This and that Darwinism just means, reproductive success wins… Though in the end, what solved the Malthusian problem in Germany and is coming to the rest of the world too was… the end of population growth, in a mysterious demographic transition that was visible in its beginnings since the 19th Century and yet was overlooked by the likes of Paul Ehrlich until this day.
